Build product bundles
Some of the best personalised products are sets: a gift box of a mug, a coaster and a card, each carrying the same name. Bundles let you sell exactly that: the customer designs every piece and checks out once, as a single purchase, while you receive a separate print file for each component. It’s a natural upsell and a tidy experience for the buyer, who never has to juggle three items in their cart. This guide covers creating a bundle, adding the products that make it up, and what customers see.
What a bundle is
A bundle is a set of components: existing customizable products bundled together as one purchase. Think a gift set (mug + coaster + card) where the customer personalises each item but checks out a single line. Each component must already be a customisable product in its own right.
Create a bundle
- On the Products page, click + New bundle.
- In Create a bundle, search your store for the bundle product, then make it customizable. You’ll add components on the next screen. Pick the store product that represents the bundle.
- You land on the bundle’s edit page.
Add components
In the Components section (Existing customizable products bundled together as one purchase. Drag rows to reorder.):
- Click + Add component and choose a customisable product in the Add component window.
- Each component row shows its Component, a Label (what the customer sees), and its External ID.
- Set the Label to something friendly: this is the name the customer sees for that step (e.g. Your mug, Matching coaster).
- Drag to reorder the rows to set the order customers work through them, and use the per-row actions to Edit or Remove a component.
Storefront binding
The Storefront binding section sets the product on your store that opens this bundle’s editor. Use Change product… if you ever need to point the bundle at a different store product.
What customers see
On the bundle product, the customer opens the editor and works through each component as a set of tabs: designing one, then moving on with Next step (and Previous to go back). When they’re done, the whole bundle adds to the cart as a single purchase.
