Install the plugin & activate your licence

This is the five-minute job that switches Sigmira on. Installing the plugin adds the Sigmira menu to WordPress; activating your licence is what unlocks the features and connects your store to the Sigmira service that powers the editor and produces your print-ready files. You only do it once per site, and everything else in this guide assumes it’s done, so let’s get the connection live and confirm it’s healthy before moving on.

Before you start

You’ll need:

  • Administrator access to your WordPress site
  • Your Sigmira licence key — find it in your Sigmira account and in your welcome email. It looks like SIG-XXXXXX-….

Install the plugin

  1. In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New.
  2. Click Upload Plugin and choose the Sigmira .zip file you downloaded.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.

A new Sigmira menu appears in the WordPress sidebar, with three items: Dashboard, License and Settings.

Activate your licence

  1. Go to Sigmira → License.
  2. Paste your key into the License Key field (it shows the hint Enter your license key…).
  3. Click Activate License.
  4. You’ll see the toast License activated successfully, and the status changes to Active with the message Your license is active. All premium features are unlocked.

That’s it: your store is now connected to Sigmira.

Understanding the licence status

The License page shows one of three states:

  • Active — everything’s working; all features are unlocked.
  • Grace — your licence is in a short grace period (for example, just after a renewal is due). Features keep working for now, but you’ll see Please renew your license to avoid interruption. Sort out the renewal in your Sigmira account before it lapses.
  • Inactive — the licence isn’t active. Premium features are locked until you reactivate. You’ll also see a banner: License inactive. Reactivate it to access Products, Templates, Fonts, Elements, Print Methods, Pricing and the Sigmira Dashboard.

If it won’t activate

  • "Invalid license key" — copy the key again, with no extra spaces before or after.
  • "Site limit reached" — the message This license is already active on X of Y site(s). Upgrade to add this one. means your plan’s site allowance is used up. Deactivate the licence on a site you no longer use, or upgrade your plan to add more sites.
