Step 2: Add your product views

A view is simply one printable face of your product: the front of a t-shirt, the wrap of a mug, the inside of a card. Thinking in views is what lets you offer a back print as well as a front, or keep things deliberately simple with a single surface. In this step you’ll add a view for each side you want customers to design on, and size its canvas so what they see on screen matches the proportions of the real thing, the small detail that makes a mock-up feel believable rather than roughly right.
What a view is
Most products have more than one printable surface: the front and back of a t-shirt, or the outside and inside of a card. In Sigmira, each of those is a view. Every view has its own canvas, its own print areas, and its own design.
A product with a single printable side just needs one view. That’s fine; you don’t have to add more.
Add a view
- In the product editor, click + Add View.
- When prompted View name (e.g. Front, Back, Left):, type a clear name. Customers see this name as they switch sides, so keep it plain.
Repeat for each surface. You can switch between views along the top of the editor.
Set the canvas size
Each view has a Canvas size, shown as a width and height in pixels (px) at the bottom of the editor:
- The Canvas width (px) and Canvas height (px) fields set how big the design area is on screen.
- Allowed range is 50–5000 px.
This canvas size is the on-screen working area. It is not the print size; the real-world print dimensions are set per print area, in millimetres (see Add print areas). A good habit is to make the canvas roughly match the shape (aspect ratio) of the product surface, so what customers see looks right.
Tip: use a product mockup as the view background so customers design on a picture of the product rather than a blank rectangle. The background is set from the view’s layers; a plain white canvas is the default.
Remove a view
Deleting a view also deletes everything in it. Sigmira asks to confirm with Delete this view and all its print areas?, so a stray click won’t wipe your work.
