Text & fonts

Text is the workhorse of personalisation: names, initials, dates, messages, the things customers most want to make their own. Sigmira’s text tools go well beyond a plain font picker: you can curve text around a badge, drop a shadow behind it, nudge it into perfect alignment and offer your own font library. This guide walks through the full set, so you can give customers genuine typographic control without them needing a scrap of design know-how.

Add and edit text

  1. Click Add Text. A new layer appears with the placeholder Type your text here….
  2. Type your text. The Text field in the inspector also lets you edit the wording at any time.

Emojis aren’t supported in text layers; typing one shows Emojis are not allowed.

Formatting

Select a text layer and the inspector shows:

  • Font — the typeface. Use the font search (Search fonts…) to find one quickly. The available fonts come from your Fonts library.
  • Size — the text size.
  • Bold and Italic.
  • AlignmentAlign left, Align center, Align right.
  • Color — the text colour.
  • Opacity and Rotation — fade and turn the text.

Position it precisely

  • Position — place the text on the canvas.
  • Nudge left / up / down / right — move it a hair at a time for fine alignment.
  • Align to print area — snap the text to the centre or edges of the print area, so it sits neatly without guesswork.

Curved (arc) text

For badges, crests and circular designs:

  1. With a text layer selected, choose Convert to arc text.
  2. Adjust Arc radius (how tight the curve is), Letter spacing, and Direction (which way the text bends).

Shadow

The Shadow section adds depth to text. Set its Color and Blur to taste.

Duplicate & delete

  • Duplicate — make a copy of the selected text layer.
  • Delete — remove it (unless it’s locked; see default content).
